“Playing volleyball has easily been the best thing I’ve ever done with my life, and I owe 100% of my success to Coach Nannie. When I started playing in 7th grade it was only for a required athletic unit at school. But when I started playing for Coach Nannie, he instilled a passion for the game in me that I still have today playing at Stanford. He pushed me hard, and I worked hard for him- not because I felt obligated to, but because I honestly wanted to. He not only helped me develop as a player but also as a person. I am forever in his debt. And truly- if you want to play good volleyball in Texas, Coach Nannie is the one person to talk to. Trust me.”

“When I moved to the USA, there was no better place to continue my volleyball aspirations but at Greenhill School for Coach Nannie. From day one, I was thankful for the opportunity to continue my dream. Coach Nannie has taught me some of the most valuable skills of the game. His intensity and love for the game took my game to the next level to play at the Pennsylvania State University and after that even further to play professionally in all over the world. I could not have done it without the help of Coach Nannie. He is the best coach when it comes to Texas boys’ volleyball.”

“I owe my life at Pepperdine University completely to volleyball. If it weren’t for Addison Volleyball Club, my skills would be no where good enough to compete at the NCAA Division I collegiate level. The club offers the highest level of volleyball and anyone that has played there knows the standard is always to be the best in the state. I had to drive an hour every time we had practice, but each minute in the car was more than worth the training quality I was about to receive. I am thankful for everything I have learned while playing for Addison Volleyball Club, and I am sure that with Coach Nannie in charge of DFW High Intensity, the quality of play and coaching will have the same standard of excellence.”

“I recommend joining the DFW High Intensity Boys’ Volleyball Club with great enthusiasm. When I was in the sixth grade I signed up for what was then the Addison Volleyball Club because my French teacher at the time, Keith Nannie, approached me about playing volleyball at our school’s overnight trip. I agreed, on the condition that it didn’t conflict with my baseball schedule. What came next were six years of playing for Coach Nannie that included countless hours in gyms, convention centers and other venues around the country and internationally. Four years of playing at the collegiate level followed that.

In a college, I once heard a psychology professor say that success in athletics is the best indicator of whether someone will be accomplished in other areas of life. I couldn’t agree more. Playing for Coach Nannie, I learned values that I have taken with me since I have stopped playing volleyball–values like persistence, teamwork and hard work. And on top of that, I made great friends along the way.”

“Coach Nannie first approached me about playing volleyball when I was in 5th grade, ever since then volleyball has become a huge part of my life giving me great experiences I would not have had otherwise.  Playing 8 years of club in Dallas and 6 years for Greenhill School, Coach Nannie was by far the most experienced and most influential coach I had in that time directly making me a better volleyball player.  Coach Nannie has brought together an excellent group of coaches to help continue a great tradition of boy’s volleyball in North Texas.  I can personally attest that anyone who plays for Coach Nannie will become a better volleyball player and have a great time doing it as well. DFW High Intensity has already had a great deal of success in just a few years and has done a great job continuing the tradition of success that Addison Volleyball Club began when Coach Nannie first gave boy’s volleyball in North Texas a great chance to succeed on the national level.   I am sure that the level of volleyball will only continue to get better in the years to come with Coach Nannie leading the way. “

“I met Coach Nannie when I was in middle school at Greenhill School.  He was THE reason that I began playing volleyball and then moved into coaching after my collegiate playing career ended.  I have now been a collegiate head coach at the Division I level for 6 years and I can honestly say that Coach Nannie is who inspired me to move into this profession.  He was always so passionate about his teams, volleyball, and being a great coach and teacher.  Coach Nannie always went above and beyond for his players and I have tried to emulate that in my coaching career since playing for him.  I will forever be indebted to him for instilling these things in me at an early age.”

“My volleyball experience began when I was 15 years old with Addison Volleyball Club.  It was always hard, focused work with the understanding that we played to win through dedicated training and consistent improvement.  Under the guidance of Coach Nannie, I was continually challenged to be a better player, a more focused teammate, and to strive for gold in each and every practice and tournament.  His coaching led to a gold medal victory in the AAU National 18′s tournament in 1995.  I was awarded MVP of the tournament and would never had received such an honor had it not been for the countless hours of coaching and practice.

Coach Nannie is an intelligent leader as well as a confidant for his athletes.  The lessons I learned helped me to always succeed as a team player, to lead others when necessary, and never give up as it was never an option.  Following Addison Volleyball Club, I went on to The University of Texas-Austin and started as a freshman on the club team that competed in Division I tournaments all over the country.  I learned to work hard, play hard, and compete hard.  Looking back, it still is one of the greatest moments in my life.  The memories I have of volleyball and the lessons learned are forever engraved in my character.”

“Coach Nannie is an extremely passionate coach. He is very supportive and provided excellent leadership on and off the court. The coaching he provided helped me to grow personally and continue playing in college as the starting setter at Texas Tech. Coach Nannie is the best coach I ever had. He worked hard to understand me as a player on the court and as a person off the court.”
