Coach Nannie has been a teacher and boys’ volleyball coach at Greenhill School since the 1988-89 school year. He graduated from a small high school in Western New York in 1981 and then attended Southern Methodist University, graduating in 1985 with degrees in French, Spanish and English. After attending MBA classes at the University of Dallas, Coach Nannie became an educator and now teaches 6th grade French and Spanish. Under Coach Nannie, the Greenhill Hornets have won eleven Southwest Preparatory Conference(SPC) boys’ volleyball titles since 1993, including four undefeated seasons. During Greenhill’s 2008 campaign, Coach Nannie earned his 600th victory. Coach Nannie founded the Addison Boys’ Volleyball Club in 1992 and served as the club’s director until 2001. Nannie’s 18-and-under Addison teams won the AAU Boys’ Volleyball National Championships in 1995 and the USA Volleyball Boys’ Junior National Club Championships in 1997. In the summer of 2003, Coach Nannie’s Addison 171 team won the Silver Medal at the AAU Boys’ Volleyball National Championships. After a two year absence from boys’ club volleyball, Coach Nannie decided to begin this new volleyball club for boys. The DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club stresses the fundamentals and basics of solid, competitive volleyball. The younger athletes are given the building blocks to become well-rounded, successful volleyball players.
Coach Morris was introduced to boys’ volleyball in 1992 as a student at Greenhill School. While attending Greenhill, he played on both the varsity and junior varsity boys’ volleyball teams. During his senior year, he was named both All-SPC and All-Metroplex Independent Schools Conference, while co-captaining the Greenhill team to an SPC boys’ volleyball title in 1993. During club seasons, he competed as a member of Addison Volleyball Club (Now the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club) on both local and national levels. Coach Morris played men’s volleyball for the University of LaVerne in California, a Division I program from 1994-95. He then played for the University of North Texas mens’ volleyball club team during the 1995-96, 2000-01 and 2007-08 seasons and competed in club nationals in 1996 and again in 2008. His coaching experience includes over eight years working with boys and girls volleyball teams of various ages for clubs including DFW High Intensity Boys’ Volleyball Club, Addison Volleyball Club and Nanaimo Volleyball Club in British Columbia, Canada. Most recently, he coached the Greenhill JV girls’ volleyball team for the 2008 season. He is currently the Greenhill JV boys’ volleyball coach. Coach Morris has been coaching with the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club since its inception in 2005.
Coach Kang began his volleyball career in Baltimore, Maryland at Gilman School. He helped his high school team, in just it’s 3rd year of existence, make it to the championships of the MIAA Boys Volleyball Conference. In college, Coach Kang was part of the practice squad of the Emory Club Volleyball team. In 2009, he had his first experience coaching with a girls club team. In 2 years with the club, he coached the squad to two undefeated seasons. As Coach Kang was in his senior year at Emory University, his passion to become an educator grew and began to pursue teaching as a profession, both in the classroom and on the court. In 2011, Coach Kang moved to Dallas, TX to teach at the Greenhill School. At Greenhill he was the assistant coach of the Junior Varsity Boy’s Volleyball team. A common thread of his volleyball career has been introducing the game of volleyball to those who are not familiar with it. Whether it be with friends or colleagues, he has enjoyed teaching the game and sharing his love for the sport. Coach Kang has been coaching with the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club since 2011.
Coach Yao was introduced to volleyball in 1998 at Hikami Junior High School in Japan. As a player, he was a captain in his both senior year and selected twice to the best setter in his region while he played at Hikami Junior High school and Kaibara High School. After he graduated high school, he competed with Hikami Volleyball Club on both the local and national levels. He has been played for the University of North Texas men’s volleyball club team since 2006 and competed in collegiate club nationals in 2008. Coach Yao has been coaching with the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club since 2008.
Coach Bautista began his volleyball career playing for Addison Volleyball Club (Now the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club). He started playing at age thirteen from 1998-2003. He attended Nolan Catholic High School where he was the assistant coach for the Varsity Girls volleyball team for four years. The attended and played men’s volleyball at Dallas Baptist University. Coach Bautista won the NCAA Division II Championship at DBU in 2004. He coached the middle school volleyball team at Holy Family of Nazareth School in Irving, TX from 2008-09. Coach Bautista has been coaching with the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club since 2009.
Coach Hamilton has been competing in both indoor and beach volleyball for over 20 years. He started participating in club volleyball in 1987 while attending Southern Methodist University. He played several indoor volleyball seasons with team Furious. Over this time he has continually been involved in directing and promoting volleyball events. He has served as the National Tournament Director for the 1995 AVP Qualifier Tour, Tournament Director for the Speedo Youth Beach Tour, and most recently as the National Tournament Director for the Spikefest Tour from 2008-09. Coach Hamilton’s has been coaching with the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club since 2009.
Coach Webster began playing volleyball when she was just 9-years-old. Originally from North Idaho, she played for Sandpoint volleyball Club for seven years and two years for Sandpoint High School’s varsity team but had to abandon her competitive career due to knee injuries. Coach Webster has over 3 years of youth volleyball coaching experience. She led her 121 Sandpoint Volleyball Club team to a 35-4 record in the 2010-2011 season culminating with 2nd place in the Evergreen Region Tournament. The two years prior she assisted under Sandpoint High School Varsity Head Coach, Karen Alsager, who has lead the SHS girls to six straight State Championships, with the 141 SVBC Club teams who finished with a record of 72-2. Coach Webster has also coached under Nachele Search for the past three years with Sandpoint Middle School’s 7th grade team. Coach Webster is studying Journalism and Business Administration at Southern Methodist University. Coach Webster has been coaching with the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club since 2011.
Coach Bontrager began his volleyball career playing for Tejas in 1994. In 1995 he switched to Addison Volleyball Club, to play for Coach Nannie and alongside Coach Morris. Out of high school, he received a scholarship to play volleyball at Long Island University. Coach Bontrager eventually moved back to Texas and earned a degree in Electronic Engineering. He is presently proudly serving the community as a firefighter & paramedic for the city of Richardson. Coach Bontrager is still active in the volleyball community by playing men’s USAV tournaments, open doubles tournaments, and occasionally AVP Qualifiers. Coach Bontrager has been coaching with the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club since 2009.
Coach Baldwin is a graduate of The Episcopal School of Dallas where he played varsity boy’s volleyball for four years from 1996-99. He was co-captain his senior year and earned All-SPC honors as a middle blocker. Coach Baldwin played club volleyball for Addison Volleyball Club (Now the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club) from 1996-98. He later attended Texas Tech University where he coached and played intramural men’s volleyball for the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Under his direction, the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity men’s volleyball team won All-Greek and All-University Championships. Coach Baldwin coached for Addison Volleyball Club 181 in the 2004-05 season. In 2005, he was the Junior Varsity Girls’ coach at Greenhill School, leading his team to successful 21 win season and a .715 game win percentage. Coach Baldwin was instrumental in turning around the girls’ volleyball program at St. John’s Episcopal School in East Dallas. He coached at St. John’s for two years from 2007-08 and led his team to a TAPPS championship. Coach Baldwin was the freshman girls’ coach at Bishop Lynch High School in 2008, finishing the season with a .800 game win percentage and two tournament titles. As a varsity assistant coach at Bishop Lynch, his team won a TAPPS 5A State Championship in 2008. Coach Baldwin has been coaching with the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club since its inception in 2005.
Coach Hall began his volleyball career at Trinity Valley School in Fort Worth, Texas. He was the varsity setter for four seasons from 2002-2005, earning three All-SPC awards and captaining his squad during his junior and senior seasons. He was also named to the Dallas Morning News All-Area team twice. Additionally, he played three club seasons with Addison Volleyball Club (Now the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club) finishing as high as 5th overall at USAV Boys’ Junior National Club Championships. He coached middle school boys’ volleyball at Trinity Valley from 2006-07. Coach Hall has been coaching with the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club since 2007.
Coach Holt was introduced to volleyball at Baylor University (1993-1997), where he played and served as vice president of Baylor Men’s Club Volleyball, ranked as a top twenty team his senior year. Since then, he has gained a variety of playing and coaching experience. As a club coach, he coached for Addison Volleyball Club (2001-2002). At Greenhill School (2002-present), he has served as a middle school coach. At Victory VBC, he assisted Thomas Bledsoe in 2004 with the 151’s, and later that year, he, Thomas, and James Turk founded the Victory Beach Volleyball program. He is committed to helping players master the fundamentals of the game and grow into successful athletes. When not coaching or teaching, he still plays volleyball every chance he gets. Coach Holt has been coaching with the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club since 2010.
Coach Kerr played his club volleyball for Bay to Bay Volleyball Club in Santa Cruz, CA. under the direction of Brad Keller where he was coached by Chris Muscat (UCLA) for 3 years. He played his high school volleyball at Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose, CA, where he made varsity as a setter/ DS his Sophomore year. His varsity team was 3-time WCAL champs as well as CCS Champs his Junior year. Coach Kerr continued his volleyball career at the University of Arizona where he won a NIRSA National Championship his Freshman year. Coach Kerr also coached club volleyball at the junior level for both the girls and boys. After his freshman year at Arizona he returned to Bay to Bay as an Assistant Coach for the 15 Black team. This team earned a Bronze medal at the 2005 Junior Olympic championships in Louisville, KY. After returning to AZ he helped with Club Cactus Juniors on both the girls and boys side, earning the 2007 Coach of the Year award. Starting in 2007 Coach Kerr was the Assistant Club Director for Arizona Premier Volleyball; he assisted with the 18-1 team. This team was back to back Arizona Region champs and took 5th place in the Silver bracket of the Open division at the 2008 Junior Olympics. Over the next 2 years Coach Kerr was a head coach for the 17-1 team and the Head Court Trainer for APV. Coach Kerr also coached for VBC Dinamo as a Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and a Court trainer from 2007-2010. In 2009 the 17-Elite team earned the Silver medal in the American division at the Junior Olympics. Starting in 2007 Coach Kerr was the Volunteer Assistant for the D1 women’s program at the University of Arizona, he continued with the program until May 2010. Coach Kerr graduated from the University of Arizona in 2009 with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies. Coach Kerr is now the Assistant Volleyball Coach at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth. Coach Kerr has been coaching with the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club since 2010.
