About Us

Welcome

The DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club was founded to introduce boys to the game of high-powered boys volleyball on a highly competitive level.  This boys volleyball club was organized to enhance the level of boys volleyball in North Texas and to raise the level of awareness and enthusiasm for boys volleyball in the Dallas Ft. Worth area as a sport which can be enjoyed through middle and upper school and continued throughout college and beyond.

Our goals are to teach the game of boys volleyball, to enhance existing boys volleyball skills, to provide healthy exercise, to teach teamwork, and to foster team unity. Additional invaluable benefits to our boys volleyball players include, but are not limited to: increased confidence and practice leading, teaming and working with others; elevated self-worth and confidence; ability to identify and set life goals; drive, confidence, and resources to accomplish goals; purposeful direction in the world; future business contact and support from former DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club teammates; and life-long support and encouragement from current and former High Intensity coaches. Former DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club players have gone on to play mens volleyball at all collegiate levels and professionally in the US and internationally. More importantly they have gone on to earn advanced degrees in college, own & run successful businesses, lead people as managers, coach athletes, teach students, and most importantly make the world a better place by being a mentor, example, and compassionate leader for others to follow.

The DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club is a highly competitive volleyball organization. Our boys volleyball club teams attend the USA Boys Volleyball Junior National Championships every summer. We work hard to prepare the best possible boys volleyball club teams for this competition.  Additionally, our boys volleyball teams attend numerous National Qualifiers throughout the spring and summer.

Seasons

We operate with two distinct seasons, club (Nov.to July) and fall (Aug. to Oct.). Additionally, we offer various camps, tournaments, lessons, etc. For more information Contact Us.

Tournaments

DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club players will participate in volleyball tournaments on weekends. There are limited numbers of boys volleyball club teams in Texas and the Southwest United States, thus it will be important to travel to other states to compete against other boys volleyball clubs. We also compete locally in mens volleyball tournaments. We desire to play as many boys volleyball club teams as possible, so travel will be quite frequent. Travel will not conflict with school. All travel will take place on Friday after school, and we will return on Sunday evenings or Mondays that are holidays.

Practices

DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club players should plan to practice twice per week for the majority of the boys volleyball club season. Additionally, we offer one optional open gym boys volleyball practice per week. However, when preparing for the bigger, summer boys volleyball club tournaments, athletes will practice more often. The DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club practice schedule will be given to each boys volleyball club member and posted on our calendar page. All DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club players are expected to attend all required practices. When a conflict occurs, volleyball players should notify their coach as soon as possible.

Equipment

Each DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club players will be required to purchase a volleyball uniform through the club. Volleyball shoes and knee-pads are left to personal preference. Volleyballs, volleyball nets, and any additional volleyball court equipment are provided by the practice facility and/or the club.

Parents

DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club parents are encouraged to attend all boys volleyball club tournaments. Parents are also encouraged to register with the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club as chaperones, help transport players to boys volleyball tournaments, and help provide food and snacks at boys volleyball tournaments. Parents are discouraged from attending boys volleyball practices, as sometimes athletes can become distracted when parents are watching. DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club is sensitive to parental concerns, but all concerns and complaints must be handled outside of boys volleyball practices or boys volleyball tournament facilities. Club volleyball practice or tournament settings are not conducive to constructive discourse among boys volleyball parents and boys volleyball coaches.

General

DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club players must register with USA Volleyball prior to attending tryouts or a practice. Keith Nannie, Club Director, will select the boys volleyball club coaches. Every DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club coach will be certified to coach boys volleyball at the junior level through USA Volleyball. DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club coaches will bring a wide variety of playing as well as coaching experience to the volleyball court. Coaches (and players) will sign a code of ethics established by USA Volleyball.

All DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club players are expected to abide by the boys volleyball club training rules set by the coaches. DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club coaches reserve the right to suspend or release boys volleyball players who do not adhere to the rules.  DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club players who are involved in other school sports, which are in season, must not let DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club activities interfere with their commitment to their school teams. However, players must also remember that the DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club is an important commitment. Boys volleyball players will be required to sign a commitment contract and live up to its’ terms. The DFW High Intensity Boys Volleyball Club is a highly competitive organization. Our primary goal for our teams is to attend the USA Volleyball Boys Junior National Championships every summer and the qualifiers that precede it. We are highly dedicated to preparing the best possible boys volleyball teams for this competition.
